Teaching Assistant Needed
I work with a school that is located in Coleford and they are looking to recruit for September, for a Teaching Assistant. The school is small in size and is a Church of England school, located quite centrally in Coleford, with a beautiful view of the Forest of Dean. It is part of a trust and so has a great deal of support and funding to ensure students receive a high level of support and education, and that they can thrive in their environment.
The school is looking for someone to join them on a part time basis for the next academic year, which will run from September 4th to the following July. You would work a total of 21 hours per week and this would be split across the Monday-Friday. The role itself would be working 1:1 with a student that has SEN, and so the school is really looking for someone who has excellent SEN experience. You must also be organised and motivated, and also reliable as the student will need consistency with their support.
What will you do on a day to day basis?
- Support and aid the Teacher
- To supervise students throughout break times/lunch
- Work 1:1 with a pupil with SEN
- To help students with their learning generally
What did Ofsted say in their most recent report?
“Leaders have high expectations of pupils’ conduct. These are reflected in pupils’ calm behaviour in classrooms, around the school and on the playground. Pupils are polite and well-mannered. They enjoy their time at school. They make friends and learn happily together. Pupils are well cared for and safe. They know that if they have any worries, staff will listen and help them. Pupils say that there is no bullying but that occasionally they fall out with each other. When this happens, they appreciate the way staff help them to resolve their differences”.
